In adults with an initial BMI of 30 kg/m2 (obese) or 27 kg/m2 (overweight) and at least one weight-related comorbid condition (e.g., hypertension, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes), it is used as a supplement to a lower-calorie diet and more physical activity for long-term weight control.
